Do I have permanent hearing loss? A thorough hearing exam will determine whether you have permanent hearing loss, or if your problem is infection or earwax. You will be provided with a personal audiogram that charts your degree of hearing loss as compared to normal hearing ranges. If the audiogram reveals permanent hearing loss, discuss your options with your hearing specialist.
How long will my new hearing instruments last? With regular cleaning, they can last 5-7 years. Earwax and debris builds up on the microphone and receiver and should be cleaned by your hearing specialist every 2-3 months for optimum longevity of your hearing instruments.
