There are many symptoms of hearing loss. People who have hearing loss are sometimes not aware of it. Family members or friends often are the first to notice the hearing loss. Some symptoms of hearing loss are easy to see and understand, and others can be very difficult to put your finger on. If you can’t hear the TV and everyone around you is enjoying it, that is a symptoms of hearing loss that is very obvious. On the other hand, you might not socialize with certain friends as much as you once did. It’s hard to understand, but this relationship might have had a downturn because of negative effects of hearing loss. Some of your best aspects can be overshadowed by hearing loss, which can make people perceive you in a completely different way. Your personality may come across completely different, and your friendship may take a direct hit because of it. Here is a short list of symptoms of hearing loss...
• Hearing but not understanding
• Turning up the volume on the TV
• Must lip read to understand speech
• Cannot hear environmental sounds such as birds, crickets, etc.

Keep a close eye out for these symptoms of hearing loss. It is best to catch hearing loss early. It falls under the term called “Use it or Lose it”. This statement refers to the fact that if you are not using your hearing, it is gradually going to get worse. Its better to stay on top of hearing loss, which in turn will keep your hearing loss from drastically getting worse at a much greater speed. So always remember some of these symptoms of hearing loss, and if you personally notice any of them - act fast!
