Southwestern Hearing Centers annually participates in continuing education opportunities to further enhance the skills of its professional staff.

Michael S. Marino, B.C.-H.I.S.

Michael is licensed in the state of Missouri, and has been distributing hearing instruments since 1967. He is Nationally Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and regularly contributes to The Hearing Instrument Magazine. Michael has been a member of the International Hearing Aid Society since 1973 and is currently a member of both the Missouri Hearing Aid Society and the American Auditory Society. In addition to his Missouri license to fit hearing instruments, he holds a State of Missouri Certificate of Authority, allowing him to teach hearing instrument science.

Over the years, Michael has completed countless hours of continued education, and has been a speaker and educator in the industry. He has earned a position on the Advisory Council for Nu-Ear Electronics, a division of Starkey Labs, which he has maintained since 1989.

Michael Marino enjoys all facets of the hearing aid industry, and has earned numerous awards in his field.


Cindy M. Brandon, H.I.S.
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Cindy Marino-Brandon is a third generation hearing specialist and has spent her entire life in the hearing industry. Growing up in the business, her grandfather Albert Marino started the local company in 1947 that was later taken over by her father in 1986. Cindy is a licensed hearing specialist by the state of Missouri.


Matthew T. Scaring, B.H.S., H.I.S.
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Matthew gained a B.H.S. in Communication Disorders from the University of Kentucky, Lexington and is licensed in both Missouri and Illinois as a Hearing Instrument Specialist. Matthew is well educated in the clinical disorders of the ear, and is also an expert with our most sophisticated hearing devices – the Digitally Programmable Line. Matthew is a member of the International Hearing Aid Society, the Missouri Hearing Aid Society, and the American Auditory Society. He has been working in the field since August 1995.


Jill Diesman, M.S., CCC-A
Audiologist - Formerly with Hear USA
Jill has her masters degree in science, speech and hearing. She is a audiologist and has been helping people with hearing loss for over 7 years.


Stephen D. Gilbert, B.C.-H.I.S.
National Board Certified, Hearing Instrument Specialist
Stephen is nationally board certified and holds licenses in both Missouri and Illinois. Additionally, he is an approved hearing instrument specialist trainer by the state of Missouri.


Danny Nelson, BC-HIS
Formerly with Miracle Ear
Danny has been distributing hearing instruments for twelve years throughout Missouri and Illinois. He has earned his certificate of Authority as Registered Supervisor in the state of Missouri. This position is highly recognized by the Hearing Instrument Board of Directors.


Shawn Wilcox, H.I.S.
Formerly with Miracle Ear
Shawn has been practicing hearing instrument distribution in the state of Illinois for over seventeen years, and is a dedicated professional in his field.


Carol Reitze,l H.I.S.
Formerly with Hozer Hearing Clinic Michigan, Hearing Instrument Specialist
Carol has been a Hearing Instrument Specialist for more than five ears. She is dual licensed in Missouri and Michigan.


J.W. Kamper, H.I.S.
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Former owner of In Home Hearing Aid Service, J.W., teamed up with Southwestern Hearing Centers in November 2007. J.W. remains a dedicated hearing specialist and a vital part of the Southwestern team.


Jonathon Bushman, H.I.S.
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Jonathon has been with the Southwestern Hearing Centers for four years and holds a license to practice in the state of Missouri.


Chris T. James, H.I.S.
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Chris is a licensed hearing instrument specialist and achieved his undergraduate degree from Truman State University. He holds a license to practice in the state of Missouri, and greatly enjoys the field.
